Kellogg's Special K Protein Meal Bars I’m focused on losing weight, and have decided to add some snack bars to my pantry. While wandering through Target tonight I saw a package of Kellogg’s Special K Protein Meal Bars marked down about 30%, so I decided to give them a try.

My first impression? They’re chewy. My jaw was aching by the time I got done chewing my way through the whole bar. I’m not sure if this is done deliberately, since chewing your food longer can send the “Okay, I’m full!” signals to your brain sooner, or if it’s a result of the ingredients that go into the making of the bars. But whatever the case, I definitely had to work at eating the bar. I couldn’t just glom it down.

It’s a bit dense in terms of the texture of the bar, but it’s quite tasty. I don’t know what I like better — the tart sweetness of the dried strawberry bits that are mixed throughout the bar, or the sweet yogurt coating.

Overall, I think I like the bars. They fit within my allowances for calories and fat grams, and they’re designed to be very filling, which is always a good thing when you’re trying to watch what you eat! The last thing you need is hunger pains to throw off your determination and willpower.
